Frequency Classes
coupled-oscillators#
Phase oscillators on a graph, integrated forward under a coupling constant. Coherence drifts between ordered and disordered; the order parameter is the natural control signal for register and voice count. Slow, drone-shaped output.
cellular-automaton#
A discrete lattice under a fixed local rule. Fully specified by the rule number and the initial row. Percussive and rhythmic output; structure appears without being composed.
granular-synthesis#
A grain cloud evolving under a stochastic field. Density function, pitch-shift range and grain envelope are the design choices; the source corpus and its licence are the sourced data. Textural output. Citation: Roads, Microsound (ISBN 978-0-262-18215-7). This class alone requires sample clearance at launch: if the grain corpus contains copyrighted recordings, its licence status must be stated and the file hashed on chain.
physical-modeling-resonator#
A network of coupled resonators, each with its own excitation and decay, exchanging energy with its neighbours under damping. Struck nodes are sounded by plucked-string synthesis. Citation: Karplus and Strong, “Digital Synthesis of Plucked-String and Drum Timbres” (10.2307/3680062).
stochastic-process#
A formalized process stepped once per tick with entropy drawn from the block hash. The named distribution; Markov chain over scale degrees, Ornstein-Uhlenbeck field, Poisson point process, or sieve theory; is declared in the specification and recorded as sourced data, along with its parameters. Markov chains are one technique inside this class, not a class of their own.
